Stable Research was recently engaged by the Miranda & Districts Chamber of Commerce (MDCC) to conduct a member survey focusing on business and wider community issues. The survey also contained specific questions for members about MDCC activities that will assist the committee with the development of plans and strategies that recognise and acknowledge member needs. Survey findings were analysed by Mark Hooper, MDCC committee member and Managing Director of M101 Sales Capability Builders.
The MDCC 2014 Business Survey was presented to the NSW Small Business Minister, Katrina Hodgkinson, at a business breakfast, Thursday 13th March 2014.
Here’s an infographic of some of the main findings:

A professional survey can really assist associations like chambers of commerce and industry groups to not only find out what their members think about wider issues, but also to find out what their members want from them.
Most associations are representative of the members that join and membership usually involves the payment of fees. With those fees comes an expectation that the views of members will be received and heard. Technology now means that surveying members is not only quick and cost effective but it is also crucial for analytics and forward planning.
At the same time various stakeholders including local, state and federal government, other associations, businesses and the media are always interested in credible and topical statistical information.
The MDCC’s survey provided information that will help them to more effectively cater for their membership. At the same time it also served to provide a snapshot of business conditions that can now drive wider discussions in the local community.
